A random introduction to Metung in 2018, saw us fall in love with the Gippsland Lakes. Having no expectations of this lakeside town that we knew little about, Metung’s village feel, and natural beauty made an instant impression.
We have to come back!

Countless visits later over 2 years, we found our piece of this lakeside gem. And after a wedding, an epidemic and a few lockdowns thrown in, Lakeview Retreat Metung was born.

Only when we had the opportunity to experience our own stay at Lakeview Retreat, did we truly appreciate just how much it has enriched our own lives. Taking a break from the rat race, meeting genuine friendly country folk, embracing the natural world and listening to the silence has given us a real appetite for regional living.
